I remember reading a story in Trains Magazine a LONG time ago about the 844 rescuing a stalled freight train. A diesel had quit on a grade, and the 844 and full passenger consist pushed it over the hill.

I wish I could find video of this on YouTube, but I have been unsuccessful.

I grew up not far form Cheyenne, so had ample opportunity to see 844 pounding along the UP mainline on its way to some event. And yes, I post that highball video at every opportunity.

My folks dropped everything to head to Cheyenne to see the 4014 arrive for the beginning of its restoration last week.
